These premium first flush tea leaves are harvested in May from our organic Naturalitea gardens. After harvesting the whole leaves are steamed, rolled and dried and finally roasted which creates this rich and rounded tea. Most of the caffeine is lost during the roasting process so this is a great late afternoon/eveing treat. The infusion has a reddish brown and has a soothing earthy aroma.

Meet Tamiko Kinezuka who runs the final tea processing facility for Naturalitea. Tamiko carefully checks the shape and condition of the leaves and the smell, taste and color of the brew. To maintain her superb sense of smell, Tamiko refrains from eating spices in the month prior to spring final processing.
