------
Naturalitea is a marketing cooperative created by the Kinezuka family, who are Japan's pioneers of all-natural tea farming and our long-term partner. The operations for making Sencha and making Matcha are quite different, so most tea farmers in Japan make one or the other. To help partners like Tea Rebellion obtain high-quality organic matcha, Naturalitea has struck a partnership with a local organic matcha producer from the same popular growing area in Fujieda.
This fellow organic farmer has his garden in the same local mountains of Fujieda and makes matcha from 100% Yabukita cultivar tea leaves. The matcha leaves are harvested in mid-May after three weeks of shading.
